Drake and Scull reviews bids worth $1B for key regional projects

The projects include infrastructure development, MEP contracts, and wastewater treatment initiatives

Drake and Scull International (DSI) is currently reviewing multiple bids for large-scale infrastructure projects across the region, amounting to approximately 4 billion UAE dirhams ($1.09 billion).

The projects include infrastructure development, MEP contracts, and wastewater treatment initiatives, according to a statement the company provided to the Dubai Stock Exchange.

These bids align with DSI’s strategic goals of expanding its portfolio and reinforcing its position as a leader in delivering significant infrastructure projects in the Middle East and beyond.

“We are excited about the tremendous opportunities ahead of us,” said Muin Al Saleh, CEO of Drake and Scull International. “Our focus on growing our project portfolio, along with our expertise in high-demand sectors, will help us turn these bids into substantial wins.”

Al Saleh emphasized that regional growth is key to DSI’s strategy as the company strengthens its presence across the Middle East.

The company’s project backlog in Saudi Arabia remains strong, with a current value of AED 559 million.

Earlier this year, DSI’s subsidiary, Passavant Energy and Environment, secured a SAR 180 million contract to design and construct a wastewater treatment plant expansion in Al-Khobar.

The project, which will focus on process engineering, equipment supply, and plant installation, is set to enhance the facility’s capacity to treat 200,000 cubic meters per day. This expansion will integrate advanced treatment technologies and energy conversion systems in partnership with a leading Saudi contracting firm.

Earlier this month, Drake & Scull International appointed Muin Al Saleh as its new CEO, following a debt restructuring deal with creditors earlier this year. Al Saleh, who has held senior leadership positions in engineering and construction firms across the Middle East and internationally, took up the post immediately.
