Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and France’s EDF Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Emirates Development Bank (EDB) to advance distributed solar energy projects across the United Arab Emirates.
Under the agreement, Emerge will identify renewable energy project opportunities, which EDB will assess to provide tailored financing solutions.
The partnership aims to accelerate the UAE’s clean energy transition while supporting industrial growth and sustainable infrastructure development.
Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB, said solar energy offers manufacturers, logistics firms, and SMEs a pathway to reduce costs, enhance resilience, and maintain global competitiveness.
Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, highlighted Emerge’s client-centric approach, enabling companies to lower operational costs while pursuing sustainability targets.
Luc Koechlin, EDF Group’s Middle East CEO, added that the collaboration would strengthen the delivery of impactful clean energy projects, combining technical expertise with financial support.
