EtihadWE Names Shaikha Murad AlBlooshi as Chief People Officer in leadership restructure

AlBlooshi will lead strategic workforce development to align with EtihadWE’s refreshed corporate vision

Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) has appointed Shaikha Murad AlBlooshi as Chief People Officer (CPO) in its broader executive reshuffle aligned with the company’s renewed strategic direction.

The appointment underscores EtihadWE’s commitment to placing human capital at the heart of its growth agenda, while advancing Emiratisation and gender diversity within its ranks.

Emiratis now make up roughly 80% of the company’s workforce, with women accounting for 56% of total staff and 28% of specialised technical roles.

AlBlooshi, a veteran with more than two decades of leadership experience across the UAE’s utilities and services sectors, previously served as EtihadWE’s Senior Vice President for Human Capital and Administration. Her past roles include Executive Director of Shared Services and Director of Finance.

“This appointment reflects our strategic focus on developing human capital, enhancing corporate culture, and reinforcing innovation,” said CEO Eng. Yousif Ahmed Al Ali. “It is a pivotal step in preparing our workforce for the future and delivering high-quality services to the community.”

AlBlooshi is recognised for a leadership style grounded in empowerment and operational excellence—qualities seen as central to EtihadWE’s goal of institutional distinction and sustainable development.

The CPO appointment comes amid a wave of leadership changes across EtihadWE’s executive team, including new roles for Chief Operations Officer, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Commercial Officer.
