Spanish infrastructure group Acciona has unveiled a new digital platform designed to improve efficiency, safety and sustainability across construction projects worldwide, with an eye on supporting the Middle East’s fast-growing infrastructure sector.
The platform, called Atlas, integrates data monitoring, automation and real-time analytics into a single system to manage large and complex projects. It can be applied to transport networks such as railways, metros, ports, tunnels and highways, as well as building developments, Acciona said in a statement.
Atlas’s modular design allows it to be tailored to individual projects. Its features include tunnel boring machine data management, asset tracking, geotechnical monitoring, concrete traceability and earthworks production tracking. The platform also offers safety functions such as air quality monitoring, emergency alerts, video surveillance and worker location tracking.
The system incorporates environmental monitoring tools aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy, supporting decarbonisation and sustainability efforts in the Gulf.
Acciona said the platform is already being deployed on major international projects including the Fargo-Moorhead Flood Diversion scheme in the United States, São Paulo Metro Line 6 in Brazil, a reservoir development in Chile and the S19 road tunnel in Poland.
The company, which has been carbon neutral since 2016, reported €19.19 billion in sales in 2024 and operates in more than 40 countries across renewable energy, water, transport and infrastructure.
