China’s Trinasolar unveiled its latest solar photovoltaic and energy storage technologies at the Solar & Storage Live Egypt 2025 exhibition, reaffirming its ambitions to strengthen its foothold in North Africa’s clean energy market.
The two-day event, held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, comes as Egypt accelerates efforts to meet targets under its Integrated Sustainable Energy Strategy 2035, which seeks to source 42% of the country’s electricity from renewables.
Trinasolar’s exhibition featured its high-efficiency bifacial Vertex N 630W and 720W modules, as well as a new Anti-Dust Mono Facial Module tailored for arid environments.
The company also presented the Trina Storage Elementa 2 Pro system—an energy storage platform designed to withstand harsh climate conditions, including high temperatures and humidity, common across the Middle East and Africa.
Vincent Wu, Global Sales Vice President and Head of the MEA Management Unit at Trinasolar, said the company aims to support Egypt’s energy transition through local partnerships and climate-adapted technology.

“Through strong collaboration and our high-performance products, we’re committed to contributing to Egypt’s role as a regional clean energy hub,” Wu said. He added that the company generated $8.88 billion in revenue and invested over $600 million in R&D during the first three quarters of 2024, underlining Trinasolar’s continued focus on innovation and long-term growth in emerging markets.
A key regional initiative spotlighted during the event was Trinasolar’s ongoing collaboration with UAE-based AMEA Power on the Abydos Battery Energy Storage Project in Aswan.
The company is supplying 300MWh of its Elementa 2 platform to what is billed as Africa’s largest solar PV and Egypt’s first utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) deployment.
Factory Acceptance Testing was completed in Chu Zhou, China, with deliveries beginning in February 2025.
The project is expected to improve grid stability and enhance energy security across Egypt and neighbouring countries.
Founded in 1997 and listed on Shanghai’s STAR Market since 2020, Trinasolar has filed more than 6,000 patent applications globally and remains a key player in the smart PV and energy storage segment.
Egypt’s solar market, bolstered by rising demand and ambitious decarbonisation policies, has drawn increasing interest from Chinese and Gulf-based technology suppliers, as the region positions itself as a bridge between Africa and Europe in the global energy transition.
