AMEA Power, one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing renewable energy developers, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kyuden International Corporation, the overseas arm of Japan’s Kyushu Electric Power Company, to jointly pursue large-scale clean energy and green hydrogen initiatives across emerging markets.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration between the two firms to accelerate the development of renewable power generation and low-carbon hydrogen projects. It underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing the global energy transition and fostering sustainable economic growth in key markets.
The partnership will leverage AMEA Power’s regional project portfolio—comprising more than 2,600 megawatts currently operational or under construction and a 6-gigawatt pipeline across over 20 countries—alongside Kyuden International’s technical expertise in energy systems and decarbonisation technologies.
“This alliance with Kyuden International represents a major milestone in our efforts to lead the energy transition,” said Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power. “Together, we aim to deliver clean energy solutions that provide long-term environmental and socio-economic value.”
Kyuden International, part of the Kyuden Group, brings decades of experience in energy infrastructure and innovation, positioning the partnership to scale complex energy projects with lower carbon footprints.
The agreement aligns with growing investor and government demand for hydrogen-ready infrastructure and renewable energy integration in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms or specific project locations but indicated that the collaboration would focus on high-growth markets with favourable regulatory frameworks and strong energy demand fundamentals.
