UAE-based Ducab Group has launched a new digital tracking system, DuTrack, with the aim of improving manufacturing and supply chain efficiency across the Middle East’s industrial sector.
Billed as a first-of-its-kind solution, DuTrack uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology, real-time data analytics and advanced sensors to monitor the precise location, usage, and condition of cable drums — key equipment in cable manufacturing and distribution.
Launched at the World Utilities Congress in Abu Dhabi last week, the system is designed to reduce delays caused by misplaced assets and streamline inventory control, providing manufacturers with clearer visibility and control over their operations.
“DuTrack is a pillar of Ducab’s innovation strategy,” said Charles Mellagui, CEO of Ducab Cables Business. “It reinforces our commitment to customer-centric digital transformation and aligns with the UAE’s National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology.”
The new platform integrates features such as multi-carrier connectivity, accelerometers, gyroscopes, ambient condition sensors, and GPS navigation. In addition to drum location and usage tracking, DuTrack also enables delivery monitoring, identifies empty drums for collection, and flags maintenance needs — contributing to higher operational uptime and reduced waste.
The initiative marks a broader shift in the region’s industrial sector towards Industry 4.0 solutions, with Ducab positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation.
The group, one of the UAE’s largest energy solutions providers, says DuTrack sets a new benchmark in transparency and operational efficiency for manufacturers across the region.
