Linxon signs contracts with for major grid rehabilitation in Iraq

The contracts are part of the broader Iraqi Electrical Super Grid initiative, financed through SEK and EKN loans.

The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity has signed three major contracts with Linxon to rehabilitate key 400 kV Bulk Supply Point (BSP) stations in Baghdad and Diyala.

The contracts are part of the broader Iraqi Electrical Super Grid initiative, financed through SEK and EKN loans.

The agreements were signed by Mr. Riyad Uraibi Muklf, General Director of the General Company for Electrical Energy Transmission in the Middle Region, and Hassan Merhi, Managing Director of Linxon for the Middle East and Asia Pacific region.

Under the directives of Minister of Electricity Mr. Zeyad Ali Fadhil, the contracts focus on the rehabilitation of the North Baghdad 400 kV BSP, South Baghdad 400 kV BSP, and Diyala 400 kV BSP.

The scope of work includes updating electrical equipment, enhancing protection and control systems, and improving the infrastructure to ensure continuous and efficient operation.

The project aims to bolster the infrastructure of Iraq’s electrical super grid transmission network, ensuring a more reliable and efficient power supply across the region.
