Saudi Electricity signs deals to boost data centre and power infrastructure expansion

Saudi Electricity is expecting to enhance its role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure and energy resilience

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has signed two memoranda of understanding with Drees & Sommer and Sudlows Arabia to expand data centre capacity, strengthen power infrastructure and develop digital monitoring projects across the kingdom.

The agreements, signed through SEC’s subsidiary Power Development Company (PDC) at the Global Infrastructure Expo in Saudi Arabia, outline cooperation on conceptual and detailed design, project scope development, AI-integrated systems and environmental risk assessments. They also include support during bidding, commissioning and quality supervision.

SEC said the partnerships will reinforce PDC’s role in advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure and energy resilience, while contributing to the kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the economy and accelerate technological transformation.
