LEAPTING, Aloy sign deal for 105 MWp solar project in Saudi Arabia

LEAPTING will deploy 10 of its self-developed module mounting robots (MMRs) to install more than 149,000 solar modules on fixed-tilt tables

China’s LEAPTING has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Saudi developer Aloy for a 105 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar photovoltaic project, which will be the first in the kingdom to use fully automated robotic installation.

LEAPTING said it will deploy 10 of its self-developed module mounting robots (MMRs) to install more than 149,000 solar modules on fixed-tilt tables, with work scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The technology promises three to five times faster installation compared with manual methods, delivering more than 50% cost savings, a 25% shorter timeline and millimetre-level precision. It also reduces reliance on heavy equipment, lowering the project’s carbon footprint.

As part of the deal, LEAPTING will train a Saudi technical team from Aloy to manage on-site operations.

“This project will set new benchmarks for efficiency, cost-effectiveness and quality, fully aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 renewable energy goals,” said Vincent Liu, LEAPTING’s overseas sales director.
