TAQA Group, in partnership with JERA Co., Inc. and Al Bawani Capital, has signed 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), the Principal Buyer, to develop two new combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power projects in Rumah and Nairyah.
The projects feature a combined capacity of 3.6 gigawatts (GW).
The new developments align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 energy goals, which aim to generate 50% of the Kingdom’s electricity from efficient gas technology and the remainder from renewable energy sources.
The projects will contribute to meeting the Kingdom’s growing power demands while driving sustainability in its energy sector.

Located in key regions, the Rumah and Nairyah plants represent TAQA’s fourth and fifth greenfield projects in Saudi Arabia. They also highlight the company’s deepening role in the Kingdom’s energy landscape.
By leveraging advanced gas turbine technology, the plants are expected to deliver reliable and low-carbon power to communities and industries across the region.
