Barka Water and Power Company (BWPC) has successfully restored its full power plant capacity as of September 5, 2024, achieving a key moment in the recovery process following a technical fault experienced in June.
In a statement submitted to the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the publicly-listed company confirmed that the plant is now operating at its full capacity of 412 MW, reinforcing its role in supporting the nation’s energy grid.
The technical fault in June led to financial losses of around RO 2.2 million. However, BWPC said it had demonstrated its resilience by addressing the issue promptly and ensuring consistent service delivery.
The company acknowledged the support of Nama Power and Water Procurement Company, the Authority for Public Services Regulation, its Board of Directors, shareholders, and employees throughout the recovery.
